If one parent has a problem with excess weight, 40 percent of the cases the child will inherit the tendency fatness. The risk increases to 80 percent if both parents are obese.

But more than hereditary tendencies, the obesity affecting eating habits that are supported in family. It is confirmed that the most important cause of obesity in children is insufficient physical activity, snacking between meals and diet too rich in sugar and fat.


It is known that the effects of increased body weight occur in early childhood, but reflected only in the even older age. Television and video games have replaced the bicycle and ball. Kids today consume less energy. Some healthy habits:


1. Watch that the child regularly engaged in any physical activity or sport, to prepare meals at home.
2. Don’t let the baby food outside the home without supervision.
3. Serving baby food yourself, and adjust the size of meals to his age and needs.
4. Don’t hold everywhere food that children like to eat and easy to use it alone.
5. Don’t give your child sweet potion. It is proved that drinking sugary drinks promotes obesity (even in 60 percent of cases)
6. Don’t let the child eat in front of the TV.
